6 Questions with Ankit Prasad, Co-Founder of Bobble App
1. First of all, can you tell us a little about your role and what you do at Bobble App?
I am one of the founders of Bobble App and leading the team overall as the CEO. My primary role is to build a world-class team with awesome work culture and secondarily to derive insights from data (gathered from product and market) and help individual teams in taking right decisions.
2. Can you tell us a little about your go to market strategy, current growth/marketing channels are working for you right now?
For growth, we rely majorly on our 4 M active users who create and share bobble content daily with their friends and help us get a wider reach.
To complement organic growth, we have been working with marquee brands that target a similar demographic – where we believe it makes sense to hunt in pairs.
Our current partners include the world’s largest phone manufacturer, leading Indian comedians, one of the world’s largest FMCG companies etc.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have made with Bobble App so far that other founders can learn from?
We didn’t involve our users during the initial app design, that lead to multiple iterations and it took us time to finally arrive at a product which was appreciated and viral. I suggest all the founders to always involve their target users in the right manner during product design.
4. Let’s talk you… what apps, blogs, and tools can’t you live without?
Well in the top of the list would be my iPhone where all the tools and apps reside. I prefer more of social apps to connect with like-minded individuals.
5. What’s your best time-saving shortcut or life hack?
Right from the day we started, till today, majority of the product team lives together and works together. Started from IIT Delhi hostel room, moved to an apartment in Vasant Kunj, then few more adjacent apartments and now out of a farm house.
An avg. commute time for a working person in Delhi would be more than 2 hours but for Bobble team its just 2 minutes.
We also take care of everyone’s food, entertainment, travel cost etc. reducing random nuisance from life and helping them focus more on productive work.
This also has helped us in building a closely bonded team with emotional commitment towards the vision.
6. What resource have you watched/read/listened to that’s had the biggest impact on your business/life so far this year, and why?
I have special interest in reading about platform economy and growth hacking, in addition to general startup updates. I have been following Sangeet Paul Choudhary, the author of platform scale for the former and Sean Ellis, founder of growthhackers.com for the later topic.
