6 Questions with Benny Tjia, Founder of Bornevia

Benny Tjia is the Co-Founder and CEO of Bornevia, the easiest way to respond to customer email and social media conversations as a team.

1. First of all, can you tell us a little about your role and what you do at Bornevia?

I’m the co-founder and CEO at Bornevia. Daily, I handle our inbound and content marketing, product development, and high-touch sales operations.

2. Can you provide us some use cases where your customers have improved responsiveness by using Bornevia?

One of our customers based in India, Tracxn has been using our platform and its business hours features extensively to help manage shift work scheduling for their support agents to provide responsive 24 hours customer service.

Another customer of ours, Joytunes, based in Tel Aviv, Israel organises and categorizes their support tickets using hashtags to reduce lookup time and increase responsiveness when solving customer issues.

3.What do you know about email that few other people know?

That you can save (even) more money by using gmail/google for business.

At bornevia, since we build an email helpdesk product with in-house SMTP server we use a lot of google groups emails as virtual email addresses that forward to our helpdesk inbox to save $5+ on new generic email addresses and gmail storage.

4. Let’s talk you – what apps, software, and tools can’t you live without?

We use slack, trello, buffer, mailchimp, hubspot, and our own helpdesk platform, bornevia team inbox at work. They are indispensable.

Personally, I’m a frequent uber and grabtaxi user. Also can’t imagine living without whatsapp.

5. What’s your best time-saving shortcut or life hack?

Apart from number 3, some of the life hacks I remember using most would be to use temporary/disposable email address when registering some of my accounts to avoid getting spammed.

6. What resource have you watched/read/listened to that’s had the biggest impact on your business/life so far this year, and why?

I’ve always been fascinated with the latest innovation progresses happening in Tesla. With launches of powerwall and model X (in which some people describe as a first step towards self-driving cars), it really shows how far Tesla has gone to achieve its world-changing vision as a tech company which is inspiring, especially for startup founders.

For me personally it serves as a constant reminder to not ever give up on my vision.
